Welcome To The Bullpen
Western Pride
Liera Kay London
Come join the lands that lure a man;
That hold a tex and steed,
Where riders roam with a .44,
And a love for the land of the free.
Where speech is slurred, n’ trouble stirred,
And where life tells a tale of its own,
Come join the west, n’ live with the best;
And breathe their tales untold.
Where cowboys ramble, n’ hard men gamble;
And where men have a mind of their own,
Come probe the plains of the western claim;
Their wonders to behold.
Come gaze at their glories, admire their beauties;
And seek their treasure with pride,
Ride and explore, welcome aboard,
To the west and its wonders betide.

REVIEW 1
Most poems rhyme. Several flow nicely. Few get a clear point across, and only rare pieces are simply beautiful. Western Pride is obviously an exception...It is simply wonderful. Keep up the great work!

Review 2
Liera, I loved "Western Pride". It was very sing-songy. I mean that as a compliment, the rhythm was so clear that I felt like I could almost sing it aloud. Rhyme is not as appreciated as it used to be, but I thought you used it to great affect. You didn't try to force words just to make it rhyme perfectly, which is a trap so many fall in to. Great job.
