Welcome to the “My Place” page
My name is Scott
I run the Rope and Wire website.
My original idea for this page was to give those living in the country the opportunity to tell others about the things that made their farm or ranch so special.
Well, I’ve come to the conclusion that either no one likes to brag or no one lives on a farm or a ranch. Whatever the case, no one submitted an article so I felt it was high time to try something different.
So for now this will be literally “My Place.” I’ll use this page to post a western blog or short articles. They will either be mine, or possibly one from a contributing R&W community member.
The theme will remain Western but the content will change weekly, or there about.
If you click on any of the links to past blog's, you can return to this page by clicking on the My Place button across from my picture.
I hope you enjoy it but if not, might I suggest you “stroll the grounds.” Read a story or watch a movie.
Thanks for visiting.

A Rope and Wire Review
Brief Cases, Short Spans
By Tom Sheehan
It’s true I normally wouldn’t review a book written outside of the western genre, but that’s the thing with Tom. Even though he has authored over fifty western short stories posted to the Rope and Wire website. He is capable of writing well, in multiple genres.
Tom Sheehan is one of those keenly gifted authors who truly understands the written word.
He knows how to apply them to paper in such a magnificent way; they flow onto the page just as smooth and colorful as a drop of fresh oil either placed on a pool of clear water or dripped into a puddle in the middle of a Wal-Mart parking lot. Whatever the tone of his story might be, it's a beautiful thing.
Such are the stories found in Tom Sheehan’s latest book, Brief Cases Short Spans. A collection of exceptional short stories written only the way a master writer and storyteller like Tom Sheehan can write.
In Brief Cases Short Spans, Tom shows us a glimpse of Salvatore Giambaressi, a tough numbers runner and lover of poetry in the city of Boston’s North end.
Of Creighton Manning, a lover of music on a quest, obsessed with finding an elusive answer to a simple crossword puzzle.
And of a young man named Shag Debrillen, a bricklayer with a tarnished past, confronted with a startling situation where tough, important and quick-thinking decisions need to be made.
These are but three of the characters you will find in seventeen of the best short stories you will read this year.
Brief Cases Short Spans is a book you will find hard to put down. The characters climb from the pages as the graphic narrations surround and involve you. On occasion you may find yourself looking up from the pages only to realize you are still sitting in your living room.
On a couple of my own late night reading sessions I found myself saying “just one more”, as I grappled with the decision between an already short nights sleep or just one more story. I gave up the sleep, the book is that good.
