Dave P. Fisher
Dave P. Fisher has spent half a life time as a working cowboy, rodeo rider, bronc buster, horsepacker, and guide. His adventures on the back of a horse have taken him from the wilds of Alaska to Oregon, and all through the Rocky Mountains, but he now calls Nevada home.
Dave began putting his cowboy knowledge and experiences into poems, and then into western novels and short stories. Since then he has become internationally published with several of his short stories earning Reader’s Choice Awards. His collection of Western short stories Bronc Buster Short Stories of the American West was awarded the prestigious Will Rogers Medallion for outstanding Western Fiction for 2008.
His cowboy poetry comes in a unique form in that he tells stories of the old and new West in meter and rhyme. Most of it tends to be humorous, finding the nature, and faults, in his cowboy culture and sharing it with his audiences in a spirit of good fun. Then, he will turn around and give them something serious in regards to the things cowboys hold most important in their lives.
He has headlined shows in Oregon, California, and Nevada. In addition to being a cowboy poet Dave is also an actor and a member of the Reno comedy improv troupe The Cutting Edge.

Bronc Buster
Short Stories of the American West
Bronc Buster Short Stories of the American West is Dave P. Fisher’s first short story collection. Sample some of his most popular stories, including several that have been chosen by readers for special recognition and awards.
Stories of men like Blake Martin whose buried past won’t stay buried, and bounty hunter Jeremiah Barnett who only wants to live quietly in peace but is forced to come forward to rescue a kidnapped child. Meet lawmen Deputy Matt Darby who takes a stand against a corrupt and murderous sheriff, and U.S. Marshal Nate walker who returns to his home town to right a wrong done 15 years before. Ride with cattleman Mort Sever to recover his stolen herd, bronc buster Jack Fontaine, and ranch boss Bill young. Feel your neck chill at Sandy Jefferson’s story, or Sonny Benson’s mysterious visitor. And more.
Written as if you are sitting across from Dave and listening first-hand to the action and adventures of a by-gone era, there are no Hollywood spins or typical Western formulas here. Dave draws from the high deserts, tall timber, and rolling hills of the West that he has worked so long, and knows so well. So, pour a cup of coffee, sit back, and feel the West come alive.
