Aspen Black
Western singer/songwriter, rural artist, and cowgirl poet.
Aspen Black is a former IPRA rodeo barrel racer and NBHA champion
who currently owns and operates Buksbari Ranch, where she trains horses
and riders in various disciplines.
She also works part time in the local public school system where she leads the Sontag Music Club, giving free singing, songwriting and guitar lessons to rural elementary school students.
Aspen has 4 albums to her credit (2 country and 2 western), all four have enjoyed generous amounts of radio airplay.
She has been performing her original songs and poems at numerous events since 1992.
New for 2010, Aspen has added an additional act to her repertoire, by performing songs and poems live from the saddle of her Quarter Horses:
Foxie's Gambler and Texs Doc Bar BQ.

Horsegirl Poet is Aspen Black's latest CD.
Aspen wrote all of the songs and poems, sang all of the vocals and played
all of the instrumental back-up herself,
(with the exception of 3 songs recorded earlier)
The theme is pure western (both modern and historical), often deep and
haunting, and sprinkled with unique harmonies and sound effects.
With eighteen full-length selections, "Horsegirl Poet" is definitely a must-have CD
from a all-around cowgirl, Aspen Black.
