OLD COWBOY'S PRAYER
Joel T. Bailey

Dear Lord I'm just an old cowboy
Whose string is almost run
I know I ain't talked to you much
But I didn't want to bother you none

You know I don't have very much
That I can even call my own
And I guess there won't be many
Who'll miss me when I'm gone

You see Lord I've just been drifting
I never stayed anyplace to long
But I always tried to do what’s right
And to never do anybody wrong

Yeah I know I often drank too much
And sometimes I gambled a little bit
I knew those things were bad
And I really meant to quit

Now that I'm nearing my trails end
I'd like to set things right with you
I want to ride for your brand Lord
On that range beyond the blue
Amen
