Ride free, ride with the wind Cowboy
Think God's givin' you a gentle shout
Rodeo days are awindin' down
YUP, He needs you, there ain't any doubt.
Yur journey on earth is 'bout over
Other cowboys await you as well
One amazin' journey to Heaven
They'll have bronc-bustin stories to tell.
You've worked the grand rodeo circuit
Even put some mean bulls in their place
You've rode high-spirited horses
Anything you did was done with grace.
You was a major inspiration
To many up and comin' cowboys
Showin' how determined you truly was
Of what always in yur life, brought you joy.
Go with God and all his li'l angels
So long Cowboy, the time's gettin' near
Please, just ride free, ride with the wind
I'll do my best to not shed no tears.
